During the two-week period at which school was at a halt, I decided to get as close to my evacuated neighborhood as the National Guard would let us. I wanted to photograph what I thought at the time were the last few moments of my neighborhood standing. I am so grateful that it is still standing but devastated by the fire's effect on my community and friends.​
